Knowing My Name
September 14, 2026We ask what's in a name, its meaning or importance? Something to think about. Giving careful thought in naming our children or grands. Many times a combination of mother and/or father's name, a Jr. or the II, III and so forth, grandparents' name, other relatives' and movie stars' name or a name we just put some syllables together. If someone's name is Rose, we may think of them as sweet. What's the meaning of your name? Or what does the character of your name say about you and me? Now the 21st century highlighting a few of mankind's creative works to include: smartphones (2007), popularized by the iPhone, pocket-sized computers with high-speed internet and app ecosystems changed global communication, navigation, and daily life (LinkedIn, John Ferrell+1); CRISPR-Cas9 is Gene Editing (2012). A precise molecular tool that allows scientists to alter DNA, offering cures for genetic diseases and transforming agriculture (USA Today+1); and AI & Machine Learning: Autonomous systems, neural networks power everyday tools and much more (LinkedIn, John Ferrell, Esq.) We embrace the creative works of mankind, yet we continue to pray "Let it be for the good causing no harm nor evil." SHAKE DOWN TO SHAKE UP FOR ETERNAL LIFE
August 31, 2026I was physically absent from church services for a period of eight months due to caregiver of a loved one. During that time I had so many different sermons to preach when the time avail. The most recent one currently titled, "A SHAKE-DOWN TO SHAKE-UP FOR ETERNAL LIFE, Scripture Hebrews 12:26-28 When you and I think of "A SHAKE-DOWN somethings need to go that's a part of our normal daily lives. Maybe the way we interact with others. Are we self-centered, selfish, quick to anger, fail to listen, always late, not organize, refuse to study, lazy, lack confidence in our gifts or talents, drink alcohol like water, want someone else's husband or wife; or is there something else in need of a SHAKE-DOWN? Blog focus on what is a SHAKE-DOWN, for a SHAKE-UP, being spiritually equip, instructions for faith building, and the ultimate SHAKE UP FOR ETERNAL LIFE. A must read
