AIN'T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH

Welcome to Monday Morning Inspirational Blog titled, AIN'T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH, influenced by another Old Testament prophet, the Book of Obadiah which means "Servant of the LORD". God sent him to the people of Edom. Genesis chapter 25 tells of Edom's origins. They were the descendants of Esau. He was Jacob's older twin brother and the family-line of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Many family dysfunctions included favoritism and deceit. Verse 22 records the twins also struggled together in their mother's womb. No different from many families today. What are your thoughts? Blog includes Edom's fate, vibe to the lyrics of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell and the real understanding of AIN'T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH. A must read and please share.

Never-the-less God was displeased with Edom because they were mean, hated and fought against Israel-their kinfolks that were and are still known as “God’s chosen people.” So Obadiah delivered God’s warning of repentance to Edom from their evil ways towards Israel or “Else.” Who in their right mind desires to experience the “Fury” of the LORD. Yet Edom was full of pride, rebellious, a very prosperous nation and they refused to repent. A graved and false sense of “Untouchable” since they lived high up in the mountain.

The nation did not know God. If so, they would have realized AIN’T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH to protect them from God’s wrath-His anger-His fury. The nation of Edom is extinct – wiped out. Obadiah’s prediction came true in the fifth century B.C. when Edom was removed from Petra. The Edomites would later disappear from history completely, marking the total destruction of one of Israel’s enemies. In His dealings with Edom, God kept His promise to His people, Genesis 12:3 “Whoever curses you I will curse” (gotquestions.org/Edom-Obadiah).

Let’s us roll with the “Goodness” of AIN’T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH lyrics sung by the late Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell shares the depth of a caring,  committed and loving relationship, “No valley low enough, no river wide enough. If you need me, call me, no matter where you are, no matter how far, don’t worry, baby. Just call my name. I’ll be there in a hurry.”

An understanding of AIN’T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH confirms Mount Everest, the highest (tallest) mountain in the world 29,031.7 feet above sea level. It is located in the Himalayas on the border between Nepal and Tibet (China). Now “No valley low enough.” The Jordan Rift is the lowest valley and the lowest exposed land elevation (height) on Earth.  It contains the Dead Sea. Its shoreline sits at approx. 1,412 feet below sea level that varies slightly based on annual precipitation (rainfall) and evaporation (vanishing). The valley borders Israel, the West Bank and Jordan. Lastly, “No river wide enough.” Two rivers are reported as the “Widest.” (1) The Amazon River holds the Guinness World Record for the widest main river, reaching widths of about 7 miles during the dry season and swelling to over 24 miles during the wet season. (2) The Río de la Plata is considered the widest river if measuring the river mouth where it meets the Atlantic Ocean. It stretches up to 140 miles across its widest point that separates Argentina and Uruguay (taken from the internet).

My, my, my…can we imagine an agape (unconditional) caring, committed and loving relationship of AIN’T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH, no valley low enough and no river wide enough where: If you need me, call me, no matter where you are, no matter how far and don’t worry, baby. Just call my name. I’ll be there in a hurry.

Consider AIN’T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH where the LORD does not hear our cries nor lack the ability to meet our needs. Psalm 139:2 “Thou knows my downsitting and mine uprising (means God knows our daily life, business, affairs and when we rest.), thou (He) understands my thoughts afar off (Ellicott's Commentary). Isaiah 65:24 “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” Psalm 145:18 “The LORD is nigh (near) unto all them that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth.”

Promises with benefits: Psalm 37:3-6 ”Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” Vs. 6 “And He shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light (means if you are slandered; if your character is assailed (attacked) and seems to be under a cloud; if reproach (blame) comes upon you from the devices of wicked people (acts) in such a way that you cannot meet it (difficulties in helping folks understand)-then if you commit the case to God, He will protect your character and will cause the clouds to disperse, and all to be as clear as the sun without a cloud.

There is nothing that may be more safely left with God; nothing that God will more certainly protect than the injured reputation of a good man or woman. Under His authority things will ultimately work themselves right; and the man or woman will have all the reputation which he or she deserves to have restored.

But he/she who spends his or her life in the mere work of defending themselves, will soon have a reputation that is not much worth defending. The true way for a man or woman is to do your duty - to do right always - and then commit the whole situation to God.

As the noon-day - The original word here is in the dual form, and means properly "double-light;" that is, the strongest, brightest light. It means "noon," because the light is then most clear and bright. The idea is, God will make your character perfectly clear and bright. No cloud will remain on it. Vs. 7 “Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him: fret not thyself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.”

Finally AIN’T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH that God can’t respond to our: Hurts and Pain. Psalm 34:18-19 “The LORD is nigh (near) unto them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as be of a contrite (repentance) spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivers him out of them all.”  James 1:2-4 “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”

Stress & Anxiety: Philippians 4:6 “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” 1 Peter 5:6-7 “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon Him; for he cares for you.

Loneliness: Matthew 28:20 “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, He it is that does go with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”

Fear: 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  Psalm 55:22 “Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”  Joshua 1:9  “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goes.”

Sickness: Psalm 147:3 “He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.”  Psalm 103:2-3 “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all thine iniquities; who heals all thy diseases.”

Peace: John 16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” Romans 15:13 “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost-Spirit.” Colossians 3:15 “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body (the body of Christ); and be ye thankful.”

Thanks LORD AIN’T NO MOUNTIAN HIGH ENOUGH to separate Your love for me, to hear my cries, answer my prayers, come to my rescue, to receive Your promises and benefits, to receive Your power of love and a sound mind; to make me strong and courageous, heal and mend my broken heart, cure me from sickness and disease, to cast all my cares on You because You care! As always more peace, joy, blessings, hope and love! Neatbooks4u
