“SURFING THROUGH THE BLUES.” Imagine SURFING through a continuous flow of ocean waves in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Therefore the surfer is confronted with low to high energy waves known as constructive and destructive tides. SURFING a potential hazard can lead to a deadly sport. Due to a potential hazard it’s important the surfer maneuver various moves and strategies for successful surfing.
The constructive or low waves adds sand sediments made from the erosion of rocks and various forms of shellfish as well as small rocks and seashells to the beach. The destructive or high waves takes away from the beach’s sand sediments, small rocks and shells.
How can one relate Surfing Through The Ocean Waves a metaphor to SURFING THROUGH THE BLUES?
Surfing through the blues of life troubles and problems include sadness, grief, loneliness, disappointments, pains, separations, sickness and the list goes on and on.
The surfer is the believer and unbeliever surfing or navigating through life issues. Matthew 5:45 “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” This means sun which is good and the rain as a blessing. Yet we know during this life the believer and unbeliever experiences sad and heartbreaking situations. The sadness due to loss brings about all kinds of emotions. Everyone has their own personal journey. At some point we pray one chooses the road towards healing and put healing practices to work. Then in other life events God wants our attention, as well as, He had said, Psalm 34:19 "Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivers him/her out of them all.
Then many times when life is great we seems to forget about God and trust more in ourselves-our accomplishments or talents. I had to go through some stuff to set my priorities straight in my faith journey. Our Father wants us to have a genuine love relationship with Him. Not just to love Him for what He can/will do, but to love God more for what He has already done. What are your thoughts?
So just like the surfer need a playbook of instructions to train and practice Surfing the ocean waves for success, the believe and non-believer need a playbook of instructions known as the Bible to learn SURFING THROUGH THE BLUES—of our life troubles. We learn how to surf/navigate through the BLUES by Bible reading, studying and meditating on God’s Word for understanding including putting into practice—a lifestyle of righteousness as we SURF THROUGH. We are reminded to ask for help when weak or stuck. Then many have gone further in learning through Bible study groups, more advance Christian studies, theology degrees and let’s not leave out life experiences of testimonies in how one has SURF OR SURFING THROUGH THE BLUES trusting in God
Then in SURFING THROUGH THE BLUES of low tides or waves, we are blessed because our BLUES obtained positive outcomes. Examples: obtained good doctor’s report that only needed a change from eating poorly to eating healthy, the ability to forgive family from miscommunication and anger, increase in finances now the ability to pay bills and catch up on late payments, the youngest finally graduated from college after struggling to help pay their room and board. Now worked it out where no longer have to put mother into a nursing home. SURFING THOUGH in low-high tides results to thankfulness for God’s favor, grace, mercy and good outcomes. Just to mention the ocean positive outcomes relates to the good low tides and waves that adds to the beach causing no financial burden to local government nor rob its beauty or purpose.
On the other hand, destructive or high waves/tides takes away the beach sand sediments, small rocks and shells. Yet for example, SURFING THROUGH THE BLUES of high tides with the LORD I received a bad/negative blood pressure report nearing a stroke. I trust You for Your divine intervention. Thanks for allowing the new medication to work properly as well as taking away my taste for unhealthy foods, sweets, juices and sodas. Then for giving me wisdom and discipline to eat healthy even though a continual work in progress.
Help me O LORD to be slow to anger, become a peacemaker and show me how to walk away from situations before escalation to avoid a court case and having my children taken away from me. John 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.” First Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon Him; for He cares for you. Philippians 4:6 “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Then help me to forgive myself and others. Matthew 6: 14 Jesus said, “For if ye forgive men their trespasses (violations made against us), your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” More high tides. Thanks LORD for the loan modification approval that was previously denied three times. Thank You for enough monies to pay mortgage and monies left over to pay all my bills.
More thanks LORD despite my son was put out of college for academic failure then almost a year of doing nothing, he finally realized the need for an education. He got back in college and works full-time. Favor of God though much prayer, fasting and some tough love. Lastly LORD mother placed in a nursing home since she could no longer live alone. Through my visits and observations mom receives good care and is thriving.
So regardless the waves height, depth, shape nor its tides of destruction bears no match to the Superiority of our God. Our God known as Elohim—God as Creator of the heaven and earth-the One who created and separated the seas/oceans from dry land. God is EL Shaddai—God Almighty—God All Sufficient, Yahweh-Jireh—the LORD will provide, Yahweh-Rophe—the LORD Who heals spiritual, emotional and physically.
Thanks be to the LORD for His Superiority that enables and helps us while SURFING THROUGH THE BLUES of life trouble. As always love, blessings and your comments are always welcome! #Your Destiny, #Your Best
