“JESUS THE ROCK AND THE ROCK OF OUR SALVATION.” Yet prior to describing JESUS THE ROCK AND ROCK OF OUR SALVATION let us give some information on earth’s rocks since our Godhead [Father, Son, Holy Spirit] created them.’ Gensis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth.” So rocks were/are everywhere from mountains to plains and riverbeds. Covering almost every surface of the earth. “Rocks fundamentally constituents or are the ingredients of the earth’s crust. It’s the thick outer shell of a rock according to Geographiya.com. Rocks exhibits a wide range of diversity serving a stable base for our planet Earth and more.
Not all rocks are the same. Some are very hard, some shiny and some porous meaning spongy. In addition rocks form through the rock cycle, a process that transforms or changes rocks to different rocks”. Metamorphic type rocks are said to be the hardest rocks on earth that are made from high concentration or intensity of stones that changed due to environment conditions like heat and pressure (Earthreminder.com).
Quartzite another metamorphic rock forms when certain amounts of rich grain size sand of stones that were exposed to high pressures and temperatures deep below the earth’s surface fuses together formatting an extremely hard and durable rock (rockandmineralplanet.com).
Now Deuteronomy 32:4 “He [JESUS] is the ROCK. His work is perfect: for all His ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He.” Like a ROCK Benson Commentary says, “Jesus nature or character is stable, invincible, supreme and unbeatable in His power, that is fixed and unchanging. He is also immutable, which means permanent, binding and absolute in His counsels and promises (Benson Commentary).
Let’s talk about the ROCK’S participation in the creation of Earth. He was on the scene. Our Godhead works in creation of the Earth are perfect and wise according to Gensis 1:9-10 “And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called the Seas: and God saw that it was good.”
Earth’s environment, the rock cycle, earthquakes, volcanos, heat, and climate changes have all impacted rocks changing to different kinds of rocks like “Here today and gone tomorrow”. Yet we are thankful, appreciative and love our unchanging JESUS THE ROCK. He is unmovable and unchanging unlike the rock cycle that succumbs to environmental changes, climate and weather patterns. Hebrews 13:8 “JESUS CHRIST THE ROCK “The same yesterday, and today, and forever.
JESUS THE ROCK not hard like the Earth’s rock. He is sensitive and compassionate to our situations, hurts, pains and needs. Even through the pain JESUS THE ROCK is greater than a shiny rock that is only a reflection of light. JESUS THE ROCK is the LIGHT of the world. His LIGHT of righteousness, love, joy, peace, forgiveness, strength, power and more lives in all believers empowering us to be more like Him.
JESUS THE ROCK is not a spongy rock that fills up and limited in the amount of water/tears He will wipe away. THE ROCK JESUS’ power and ability is unlimited where there will never be an overflow or spilled tears. Revelations 21:4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Until that time JESUS THE ROCK is still our comforter. Matthew 11:28-29 “Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Moreover JESUS THE ROCK OUR SALVATION A portion of Psalm 62:2 “He only is my ROCK and my SALVATION.” Again “Stable in His nature, invincible in His power, fixed and immutable/permanent in His counsels, promises and ways.” The prophesy of JESUS, the One to come Zechariah 9:9 “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King comes unto thee: He is just, and having SALVATION; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.”
Malachi 3:1 “Behold, I will send My messenger (talking about John the Baptist), and he shall prepare the way before Me: and the LORD, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to His temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.”
Luke 2:11 (Jesus the Christ is born) “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the LORD.”
It is finished “When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished: and He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost.” Mission accomplish. The sinless Lamb, JESUS, the sacrificial Lamb on the cross without spot or blemish died for everyone’s sins. First Timothy 4:10 “For therefore we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, specially of those that believe.” Yes we believe JESUS THE ROCK OF OUR SALVATION. The evidence of our SALVATION is endurance in believing the true Gospel. First Cor. 15:26b “By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.” We believe regardless of personal, community and world issues and/or other challenges with our faith. Then we must believe in the resurrection of JESUS from the dead since it’s the heart of the Gospel and confirmed by many multiple eyewitnesses (1 Cor. 15:5-11).
JESUS THE ROCK OF OUR SALVATION additionally He is the source of life for all men, the believer and unbeliever. John 11:25 “Jesus said unto her, I Am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. Focusing on JESUS giving life refers to the physical and temporary life JESUS imparted to the world as an agent in creation but particularly to spiritual and eternal life He has given as a gift through belief in Him (MacArthur Bible Commentary).
More evidence of our SALVATION is belief in the Rapture 1 Cor. 15:23b “But every man in his own order: Christ the first fruits; afterward they that are Christ's at His coming. Then the Second Coming and the Premillennial Resurrection of Tribulation Saints. At His return, Christ will conquer both all the kingdoms of the Antichrist and death itself (First Cor. 15:24-28; Rev 20:4). Believing next week will further talk about for clarity.
Until that time LORD we thank You for our continue growth and the evidence of JESUS THE ROCK AND THE ROCK OF OUR SALVATION in our lives. As always love, blessings and your comments are always welcome! #Your Destiny, #Your Best
