Sun Facts The “Old yellow dwarf (maybe shadow or overshadow) star is a hot glowing ball of hydrogen and helium (gas) at the center of our solar system. It’s about 93 million miles (150 million kilometers) from Earth and it’s our solar system’s only star. Without the Sun’s energy, life as we know it could not exist on our home planet (Science.nasa.gov, 10/29/23).
Our solar system includes the Sun, eight planets, five officially named dwarf planets, hundreds of moons, and thousands of asteroids and comets. Our solar system is located in the Milky Way, a barred spiral galaxy with two major arms and two minor arms. Our Sun is in a small, partial arm of the Milky Way called the Orion Arm, or Orion Spur, between the Sagittarius and Perseus arms. Our solar system orbits the center of the galaxy at about 515,000 mph (828,000 kph). It takes about 230 million years to complete one orbit around the galactic center (Science.nasa.gov). Sounds interesting.
Ah… as we talked about the light, the power of the Sun what about the Biblical facts on THE GREATEST LIGHT, the One Who created the Sun? Genesis 1:1-5 “In the beginning God-The Father, Son & Holy Spirit created the Heavens and the Earth. And the Earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.”
Noting-“In the beginning” statement includes the actual creation of time. Time is a finite creation of God. There was no time before creation. Yet science believes differently. God is transcendent (supreme) above time. He is a Spirit, exists outside and above the physical laws of the natural universe; and is not bound by any of them, including time. God created-He is the Creator Who formed and fashioned all thing. Since He is the Creator, He is also the Lawgiver and Judge of all mankind (Faith Bible Institute).
Now let us talk about LIGHT, Who is THE GREATEST LIGHT of the world. Confirmations First Corinthians 15: 27 “For He [God-the Father] hath put all things under His [God-the Son] feet. But when He said all things are put under Him, it is manifest that He is excepted (approved by God-the Father), which did put all things under Him.
Ephesians 1:20-22 “Which He [God-the Father]wrought (fulfillment of divine); Tropical Encyclopedia) in Christ, when He [God-the Holy Spirit] raised Him [God-the Son] from the dead, and set Him [God-the Son] at His [God-the Father] own right hand in the heavenly places. Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And has put all things under His [God-the Son] feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church.
Third witness Hebrews 2:8 “Thou [God-the Father] hast put all things in subjection under His [God the Son] feet. For in that He [Father] put all in subjection under Him [Jesus], He [Father] left nothing that is not put under Him [Jesus]. But now we see not yet all things put under Him [Jesus]. There is more to come.
More THE GREATEST LIGHT in your life and mine. John 8:12 “Then spoke Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the LIGHT of the world: he that follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the LIGHT of life.” The LIGHT also confirms Jesus as the sinless God. The LIGHT that has overcome sin, evilness and the darkness of the world. Then He says, “He/she that follows Me shall not walk in darkness." As Jesus’ followers He gives you and I the LIGHT to live a life of obedience to the LORD which includes relations with others. We have the heartfelt gift of His Spirit to include love, compassion, forgiveness, self-control and kindness despite issues in dealing with hypocrites, mean people and/or folks that appears to be ignorant or ungrateful.
We are commanded to read, follow God’s Word and seek godly counsel to overcome sin, evilness and not to walk in the darkness of this world. Especially not be coerce with the tricks of the enemy “What they say,” when facing life challenges and/or difficult relations with others. Second Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine-principle-divine instruction, for reproof (rebuke that can be dealt with through confession and repentance), for correction and for instruction in righteousness.
THE GREATEST LIGHT, the Messiah, Savior of the world Who died on the cross for your sins and mine restored our broken relationship with the Father-God due to the sin of Adam in the Garden of Eden. Prior to that time they were sinless and seemingly daily communication with God. Examples are: Genesis 2:15-16 “And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou may freely eat. Genesis 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.”
Restored-restoration is the act of returning something to its original state, former position or condition; a recurring theme throughout scriptures. Symbolizing God's redemptive (saving ) work in the lives of individuals and nations. Restoration embraces our physical, spiritual, and relational (personal) aspects of life. You, me and mankind benefits from God’s desires to renew and heal His creation through Christ-the Savior of the world (Topical Encyclopedia). Available for all who believe. Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are you saved through faith; and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
THE GREATEST LIGHT gives you and I His power. Ephesians 3:20 “Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Second Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Second Peter 1:3 According as his divine power has given unto us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that has called us to glory and virtue.” THE GREATEST LIGHT Key points the ability to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think according to His power at work in you. Do you believe? Based on the LORD’S divine power, He’s given you and me everything needed for a life of godliness through His knowledge created for the LORD’S glory and virtue HIS LIGHT in you and me that shines in a world of darkness.
We know, we know, we know the times will get and-or are already rough and tough. Yet we are the recipients of THE GREATEST LIGHT, OUR LORD, the SAVIOR. Isaiah 42:6 says, “I the LORD have called you-us to righteousness and I will hold your-our hand.” A grip that is greater than the grip of a mother holding her small child’s hand. Then the LORD said, “I will keep you” and more. THE GREATEST LIGHT Hand-hold provides guidance, protection, the power of love and a sound mind, knowledge, righteousness, the ability to let your light shine and more from a babe to maturity in THE GREATEST LIGHT.
Giving thanks to THE GREATEST LIGHT Who is GREATER than the Sunlight; the Creator of the Heavens and Earth. Praise the LORD for creating a life of habitat on Earth for mankind; then the forgiveness of sin, restoration of mankind’s broken relationship with the-Father; the gift of righteous and to be seen by You, LORD as holy because of Jesus’ shed blood on the cross for mankind; your provisions; and the promise of Everlasting life with You for all that believe.
