YOU ARE BLESSED “LIKE A TREE,” a metaphor” that is well-watered and sturdy planted by the rivers of waters that brings forth fruit in its season. Its leaf shall not wither. Whatever the tree does it shall prosper (Psalm 1:3).
YOU ARE BLESSED “LIKE A TREE” because of Jesus Christ righteousness you have been made righteous. Now the truths of your power source, the supplier of YOU ARE BLESSED “LIKE A TREE” John 15:1 “I am [Jesus] the True Vine” which is the foundational structure rooted in the ground anchoring the tree; the central source of nourishment for the tree that feeds the branch (you); and (you) must maintain connection to the Vine for survival. “And My Father is the husbandman.” The heavenly Father is the divine Husbandman (like the farmer in charge of the field). Yet the Husbandman seeks to produce fruit through you, as you abide in Christ. You reckon with the LORD the fruit He desires to product with you.
What Nourishment do you, the branch receive from the Vine, Jesus Christ? Many scriptures can be selected, but let us focus on Matthew 22:37-40 “Jesus said unto him-her, you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, you shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Both scriptures mentions love which represents the character and heart of God. Then you are commanded to love the LORD your God with all your heart, soul and mind. Thus the Vine’s Nourishments to the branch (you) are the fruit of Jesus’ Spirit which are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance (Galatians 5:22-23). When you operate in the fruit of the Spirit, then you will also love your neighbor as yourself.
Realizing life issues and situations will challenge your ability to operate in the fruit of the Spirit causing your “Leaf to wither, then hinders your fruit to prosper. The
LORD knows your heart. He desires to restore life to your withered leaf. John 15:4-5 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the Vine; no more can you, except you abide in Me. I am the Vine, you are the branch: He that abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without Me you can do nothing.” Philippians 4:13 “Yet you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.” The LORD strengthens you through prayer. The LORD strengthens you by reading and mediating on scriptures that fits you situation. The LORD strengthens you by crying out to Him. The LORD strengthens you by resting in Him, seeking godly counsel and more. Surrender your issues and will to the LORD. He loves and cares for you.
You may ask, how does Jesus abide in you and you in Him? The first step is to accept Him as your Savior, if you have not. Believe He died on the cross for your sins. Ask Him to forgive you for all of your sins. And yes He will. Then say, Jesus I welcome You in my heart. That’s it. Welcome to the family, the body of Christ.
