HEAVY WEIGHT –I GIVE YOU REST” – My Testimony for encouragement. This blog is included in the FREE Inspirational PDF downloadable booklet at Neatbooks4u.

About a year ago right after our morning intercessory prayer, I continued in prayer, praise and worship. Needed to hear from God for breakthrough in a situation close to my heart. Feeling “Stuck like Chuck.” Nothing else left within my power and strength that I could do to change the situation around for the good. Therefore I laid down. Then my heartfelt-out loud plea was “LORD speak to me, speak to me! I need to hear from You!

Unexpectedly I felt pressure--pressing down on me, unable to move. I mean unable to move. That pressure was like “Heavy Weight” on me. Continued effort to move my body failed. My body was unmovable therefore I just laid there. Then hearing the Spirit of the LORD say, “Rest. I Give You Rest.” In other words, “Be still I got this.” OMG what has been your encounter while waiting to hear from God? Some or many times the LORD has to be dramatic for us especially me to understand His “Rest” or the message He wants to convey. Thank God I’m  more of a hearer and doer when the Spirit speaks to me. What about you?

“Resting in the LORD” is to be at peace, to be still, quiet, calm and listening-hearing what God has to say to us. Matthew 11:28-30 “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Jesus spoke these Words to the Jewish believers because they were burdened by their religious leaders. These religious group seemed more concerned about rituals, traditions and were hypocrites. Read Matthew 23.

A metaphor “Take My yoke upon you in Matthew 11 compares Jesus’ yoke to the wooden frame yoke placed over the necks of two animals. The farmer guided the animals while plowing to get the job done right. The lesson of the farmer in comparison to Jesus is to let the LORD guide us through our situations according to “His will and way.” Then we know it’s done right.

Now the big question is do we trust Him? Yes LORD we trust You, but help us, help me with my unbelief that “Nothing is impossible for You,” to trust Your declaration “Take My yoke (take Me) Upon you” Matthew 11:28-30. The LORD’S Yoke includes His care, compassion, love and provision for us. Not just those during Biblical days, but from that time until this present age. An example similar to the Yoke of Christ is expressed in Psalm 23:1-3 “The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures: He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul: He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.” The Lifter of HEAVY WEIGHT – “I GIVE YOU REST” Continue love and blessings! Your Destiny, Your Best! Neatbooks4u
