This Monday Morning Inspirational Blast reminds us to pray THE SOLUTION, NOT THE PROBLEM Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding (Our understanding sometimes filled with fear and/or worry); in all your ways submit (Give in) to Him, and He will make your paths straight (The SOLUTION).” Philippians 4:6-7” Be careful/anxious for nothing (Many times we are PROBLEM and anxiety filled); but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God (The SOLUTION).” Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you” (The SOLUTION).
Then many times we may be so burden-down, we got to talk to God about our PROBLEM-the situation. This is a lament prayer. Read all of Lamentations to understand what Jeremiah, the weeping prophet was going through and conclusion. Yet at some point through prayers, reading the Word, thinking about the Word and how it relates to our life or situation we grow stronger in faith FOCUSING MORE ON THE SOLUTION which are God’s promises. Remember whatever state we find ourselves in we serve a compassionate God.
Therefore a simple definition of Prayer according to gotquestions.org is “Talking to God, a direct communication of our spirit to God’s Spirit. We share our emotions and desires while engaging in fellowship with God.” Prayer Made Easy Pocket Reference Guide simplifies “Prayer is keeping company with God.” Moreover, a two-way street of communication where God hears us and we hear Him during our fellowship.
Key components includes we must recognize God’s Sovereignty/His Authority. Psalm 24:1-2 “The earth is the LORD’S and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. For He hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.” We can’t fathom nor comprehend His Majesty and Glory! Yet in our attempts LORD accept our exaltations, praise and worship of Your Holy Name. You are—the Ancient One, Your existence before time—Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End.
Thanks for Your love, faithfulness, hearing and forgiving us for our confessions of sin. First John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Thanks LORD for cleansing us of all unrighteousness. None like You.
Then we must trust God. Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (A promise). Proverbs 3:5-6 talks about how we should trust God.
The Word further says, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” When we seek the LORD He directs us to the truth of His Word. The truth of His Word directs us in Prayer. The truth of His Word leads us into taking authority and praying the promises of God’s protection, safety, deliverance, comfort and more. We not only pray for our family and friends, but our prayers extends to all in need of prayers from danger, deliverance, restoration and more. Supplication is praying for self and others. James 5:14-16 talks about praying for the sick. First Timothy 2:1-3 to pray for rulers; and Jesus said in Matthew 9:35-38 the need for more Christian workers since the harvest is full. First Chronicles 4:10 & Psalm 106:4-5 we pray for ourselves.
Therefore our hearts are filled with praises and thanksgivings to our LORD of lords and King of kings for empowering us to pray THE SOLUTION, NOT THE PROBLEM and trust.
Lastly our consolation and guide a Psalm of David 34:1-22 “I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together. I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto Him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps round about them that fear Him, and delivers them. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trust in Him. O fear the LORD, ye His saints: for there is no want to them that fear/reverence Him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.
Come, ye children, hearken unto Me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD. What man is he that desires life, and love many days, that he may see good? Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile/cunning. Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and His ears are open unto their/our cry. The Face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
The righteous cry, and the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh/near unto them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as be of a contrite/repentance spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones: not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate/abandon. The Lord redeems the soul of His servants: and none of them that trust in Him shall be desolate.
