IT AIN'T OVER, UNTIL IT'S OVER
February 23, 2026Introduction 1 Corinthians 13:11 "When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man or woman, I put away childish things." In remembrance of our childhood life journey to fully grown was filled with mothers, fathers, grandparents, uncles, aunties, neighbors, teachers, old ladies from the church and/or others' input that shaped your life and mine. Then fully grown was not subjective to age like 18 or 19 if still lived in parent's house. So for most, the childhood life journey was filled with scolding, whippings, "Go to your room" and more. Then depending on the caregivers' parenting style exceptions to the general or normal way of how "Black folks" raised children. "Whether we got it (the message) or not as well as how those experiences from happy to sad have influenced our lives…matters.
