Welcome to #YourDestiny, #Your Best Monday Morning Inspirational Blast: “HISTORY MAKERS” as we continue reflecting on Women’s History Month. We salute Wilma Rudolph, an African American woman. She was officially labelled the "Fastest woman in the world." In 1960 at the Olympic Games in Rome, a HISTORY MAKER with her stunning victories in the 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash and the 400-meter relay. Wilma was the first American woman runner to win three gold medals. She received many other awards because of her incredible athletic skills and voted “Woman Athlete of the Year” by the Associated Press. She was named “Sportsman of the Year” by a group of European sportswriters. A parade in Wilma’s honor filled with cheers and banners in Clarksville, Tennessee, their first integrated event of African-Americans and Caucasians. Not to mention Wilma was the 20th of 22 children. As a HISTORY MAKER it was not easy for Wilma. She encountered many early childhood battles. She had the measles, mumps, chicken pox, pneumonia and scarlet fever. At the age of 4 contracted polio in her left leg, a crippling disease. The doctors said, “She will never walk again.” Wilma and family refused to believe the doctors’ diagnosis. Over the next 10 years the family worked together and proved them wrong. Wilma Rudolph, a “History Maker.” Wilma’s experiences are patterns for us when get negative doctor reports, the naysayers and/or other roadblocks. Like Wilma and family we must believe the report of the LORD. Then realize faith without work is dead. For over 10 years Wilma’s siblings took turns daily massaging and exercising her leg. Wilma and her mother rode 50 miles by bus to the nearest hospital serving African Americans for Wilma’s physical therapy treatments. We imagine during those over 10 years there were ups/downs. An old Baptist saying that’s still true today, “Won’t God do it!” God has proven Himself faithful over and over again. As children of the King of kings created in His image and likeness were are destine or we are History Makers. Maybe not renown as Wilma, but some of us are. Yet we are renown within our home, family, church, workplace and/or community using our God given gifts and talents. We are to cultivate our gifts/talents that honor God and help others. Let’s remember success is not overnight, but develops over a period of time. Then our light shines with good conduct and attitude. In times of anxiety, fear and weakness Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Romans 15:13 “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” Thank You, LORD we are HISTORY MAKERS! As always, #peace, #love, #hope, #blessings, #deliverance, #belief, #salvation, #meditate, #praise #Neatbooks4u
